I have this building on my property that I was calling a barn. But I was clearly informed that it wasn't a barn. So through my being inspired about Shalom Wooded Acres, I was given the thought to find what the Greek word for "building" was. Doing a google search okiodomeo was what came up. When I dug a little deeper into the meaning I was completely blown away, see above.
I had been inspired to use this building to help inspire other women. Teaching them how to be able to live off the land with canning, cooking, sewing, crafts, and whatever else presents a need. The most important part is fellowship.
So in this blog you will find inspiration from what we do at Okiodomeo. I will list details and links, tips, recipes, suggestions, and the wonderful conversations that happen when we meet.
I will have different people come and be a part by teaching us the essentials we need to know when it comes providing for our family with what we have around us.
Let's be honest with ourselves. Things are pretty tough out there. Who knows what our nation's situation will look like in the next 5 t0 10 years. God has been speaking very strongly to my husband and I over the last 6 years about needing to be prepared. As time goes by we are giving more and more urgency and see why by looking around us.
God is our provider and He directs His children where they need to be to be kept safe and fulfill the will He has ordained for us. Being in close relationship with Him and following the prompting of the Holy Spirit is the only why to live in a fallen world. No different then how He was there for the Israelite's, we serve the same God today. We just need to follow Him.
